"BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- A vacant building on Birmingham's Southside is being transformed into an art studio for UAB faculty members whose previous workspace was in the way of the new downtown ballpark.

Commercial real estate firm Shannon Waltchack last week purchased the 19,000-square-foot building at 2300 Seventh Ave. South, a storefront-and-warehouse space that used to house a car dealership, among other businesses...."
