First Partners Bank is expanding its footprint by opening a new banking branch and corporate headquarters in Birmingham’s Southside.

Renovations to the 20,000-square-foot space, located at 2121 Highland Ave., are expected to be completed by the summer.

First Partners is leasing the space from Shannon Waltchack, which recently acquired the building for about $1.7 million. The real estate firm will develop and manage the property, which previously housed the Dominick Feld Hyde PC law firm.

The bank plans to move its corporate offices from 905 Old Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills to the new space.

The $166.6 million-asset bank will occupy the entire space, with the first floor serving as a full service branch and the rest of the building used for its executive and administrative offices.

The bank’s only other branch, located at 1360 Montgomery Highway, Suite 100, Vestavia Hills, will remain open as a full service banking branch.

Andrew Patterson and Parrish Holley, both of Shannon Walchack represented the firm in the purchase negotiations. John Hardin and Philip Currie of J.H. Berry & Gilbert Inc. represented the seller, Dominick Feld Hyde.

Dominick Feld Hyde moved last year to the Ridge Park building on the Southside.
