As the Leasing Manager for Shannon Waltchack, Matt manages and directs the daily activities of the leasing department to ensure maximum occupancy and complimentary tenant synergy across Shannon Waltchack’s portfolio. He also for hires and manages 3^rd party landlord representatives, marketing Shannon Waltchack’s portfolio listings outside of the company’s home market of North and Central Alabama. Matt has a wealth of experience negotiating leases and legal agreements with both corporate business partners and “mom and pop” businesses, making sure to stay up to date on market trends and developments across the numerous MSAs where Shannon Waltchack operates.

Matt grew up in Auburn, Alabama and attended Auburn University, graduating with a degree in Finance. After college, Matt served with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) for two years, splitting time between partnership campuses in Southwest China and Cru’s office at Auburn University. After Cru, he got his start in the real estate industry by working as an analyst for a real estate developer who specialized in big box retail redevelopments in Nashville. Matt also brings banking knowledge to the team, having worked two years in the corporate finance department for a large regional bank headquartered in Birmingham.

Matt is an active member of The International Council of Shopping Centers “ICSC” as well as both the Alabama and National CCIM Chapters. In the local community, Matt serves on the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center Junior Board, and in his free time enjoys golfing, playing guitar and spending time with friends and family.
